We made it! Did we miss a day or two? Yeah. Does making a marker sketch count? Sure does. Are we glad it’s over? YES.
Ultimately I’m glad I spontaneously decided to jump into this challenge (hosted by Warrior Painters on Instagram). It was a great way to experience the early days of spring. I also happened to be traveling for some of the month so I was able to capture Catalina Island and Whidbey Island in marker and paint. both of these places are islands but the vibes are very different – Catalina is off the coast of California whereas Whidbey is in the Puget Sound.
Enjoy browsing through the visuals in this newsletter :o) I made my favorite two plein air studies into prints which you can check out here:
Vanessa and her husband at Crafted Prints do a fantastic job – I love working with them!

When I wasn’t able to break out all my supplies I made drawings in my sketchbook. Commuting on a ferry or waiting at the airport is a great way to get a quick sketch in.

Thanks for lookin! Hope you have an amazing May.
